Paradise Island officially known the Empire of Paradise Island (French: Empire de Paradise Island), also called as the Islandese Empire, is a nation that occupied the island country called the Paradise Island.It is ruled since its birth by Alexandre Poivre as Emperor of Paradise Island. It is both a fascist, monarchist and populist state.
At first, (previously known as Tench No Mon) looks very much like another PSP title rooted in Eastern mysticism, the action-heavy Dynasty Warriors. But then, you shouldn't always trust first impressions. In the case of, what first appears to be a simple action game unfolds into a full-fledged RPG, albeit one heavy on combat.
Kingdom of Paradise promises to blend the best of both genres. It mixes narrative and ancient lore with character customization and a flexible combat system.If all goes to plan, it looks like the PSP will score another solid title. We recently had the chance to ask a series of questions on Kingdom of Paradise. And luckily, we had the game's producer, Felice Standifer, to answer them. Not only that, we also scored new screenshots and footage of the game in motion.

The game was released as 'Tenchi no mon' in Japan and is an original RPG for the PSP. IGN: Were there specific books, comic books or films that influenced the development of the game?
Standifer: The story of Kingdom of Paradise is a mythical one, beginning with a Great War three hundred years ago. Nine continents divide the vast oceans and in the center of them all was the mysterious land known as 'Ouka.' Peace on Ouka is maintained by the balance of chi that flows between five ruling clans. When an evil group disrupts this balance, it is up to one young warrior to restore peace throughout the land.
IGN: Is the game split between a series of chapters? Standifer: There are five main worlds, 4 external and 1 center, where each of the five Martial clans reside. IGN: Will progress through Paradise be linear or open-ended? Standifer: The progress through Kingdom of Paradise is linear.Click+to+Watch+New+Footage IGN: What do you expect players will enjoy most about Paradise? Standifer: Collecting and finding the various skills he or she will use to combine and build their own move set, using Ad Hoc mode for one-on-one fighting, and Infrastructure mode for downloading sword skills. The Player will be able to create their own martial arts style by combining more than 150 skills, resulting in countless combinations.
IGN: How far along is the game in development? Standifer: The game play is basically complete and we are currently putting in the English text and voices for the characters. IGN: How many different enemy types will the game feature? And will players be required to change tactics to fight different enemies? Standifer: Yes, the player will need to develop and utilize different skills for different enemies and areas throughout the game.
IGN: How many different weapons and spells will Paradise feature? Standifer: We're still trying to determine exact numbers but expect to see more than 150 obtainable skills throughout the game. IGN: What can players expect in terms of interactive environments? Standifer: Many objects in the environment are destructible, such as wooden crates and vases. Also players will be need to talk to the various NPCs that populate the environment to get information and uncover clues that will help the player progress through the story. IGN: Will Paradise feature unlockable content such as weapons or characters?
Standifer: Users can collect different moves as they progress through the game as well as download defensive items and skills through Infrastructure mode. IGN: How are magical abilities and fighting methods split between different characters in the game? Standifer: The player has to collect skills and make combinations, so each user's abilities and fighting methods will be different.
Once the player has created an attack combination they can press the X button to execute a super attack. Players can use Ad Hoc to show off their skills and share move combinations they've created. Magic attacks look amazing, the effect is minimal when only a small amount of magic is built up, but a 'full blast really lights up the screendepending on the type of magic being used.
IGN: What can players expect from wireless multiplayer? What different modes will there be and will multiplayer include exclusive weapons, etc? Standifer: Two players can battle in Ad Hoc mode and exchange skills. Infrastructure will allow players to download one type of sword, defensive items such as shields, and five kids of skills.

It's been released in Japan under the name Tenchi No Mon, so the last several months have been all about localization in preparation for the US release on November 15.
